  15. well, i got my first companion disk for LWPro the other
  16. day-i ordered #4, the surfaces issue.

  18. Part of the fun of getting these disks (for me anyways :-)
  19. is exploring the stuff on it, so i won't spoil
  20. it for you by telling you everything :-)

  22. The disk #4 has scene,image,surface,and object files.
  23. Some of the stuff is similar what you see in Issue #4,
  24. but not all. The nice sunset on the cover for example,
  25. is included, and is a great scene to study light,clouds,
  26. etc...The included "cloud object" is similar to
  27. the technique described by Christian Aubert in 
  28. a past Amazing Computing (he wrote both articles)

  30. The best thing on this disk is  the surface directory-
  31. for me, one of the best ways to learn is by studying
  32. how others create-and you get a whole bunch of
  33. surfaces to play with ! Some include image maps too.
  34. i really liked "Unobtainium", a metallic surface,
  35. and "steam" which probably needs an animation to
  36. truly look awesome.
